- Honey with hot water is a super remedy for weight loss, whether it is healthy ? Absolutely
not. Honey is truly a healing gift from nature. It becomes harmful when it is heated . Our
traditional literatures have stated that honey should neither be heated nor
combined with anything hot .
- When heated
,cooked or mixed with anything hot , the natural composition of the honey is
disturbed it turns into a complex that cannot be metabolized by the body .
- The unmetabolized
honey neither gets absorbed nor thrown out of the body. It becomes toxic
complex gradually leading to various imbalances in the body .
- Honey
basically possesses "scraping quality" . Hence honey when consumed
irrationally can disrupt the sensitive inner lining of the gut .It can dry
up the fluids in the joints .It can

composition as a result of browning effect called the "Millard Reaction".
- Heating or
storing honey for a long period of time will increase the production of a toxic
substance called 5- hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF).
- HMF
naturally occurs in honey but at very low concentration that are safe for bees.
- Storing
honey for long period of time or heating it can raise toxic HMF Levels.
- HMF is not
just in heated honey , it is a toxic chemical formed whenever sugar are heated or
caramelized.
- HMF seems to first damage and weaken the
epithelial protective layer of the body in lungs and intestinal tract .
- HMF may
also have variety of health benefits , including anti- inflammatory ,anti
allergic and anti oxidant properties.
- HMF have
both adverse and beneficial effects on human health .
- Note: Safe level of HMF for human is below 40 mg /kg.
Storing Honey
:
- In addition
to cooked honey , old honey , processed honey and honey stored at high
temperature will build up HMF and becomes toxic.

honey stored at low temperature or under fresh condition has low or minimal HMF concentration .While aged
or honey stored at comparatively high or medium temp has high HMF Concentration
.
