A Siddha Medical Kit for a Safer Child Birth

A SIDDHA MEDICAL KIT FOR A SAFER CHILD BIRTH
Pregnancy and childbirth are the  crucial phases in many womens life, womens those days often suffer from LSCS (lower segmental cesarean section) inadequate breast milk secretion ,flabby abdomen after delivery , and persistent aches following post delivery . Lifestyle changes and lack of exercise are cited as reasons, the role of natural traditional diet and herbal medicine used  during delivery and Understanding the importance of herbal medicine in the role of childbirth and to bring down the maternal mortality and Fetal mortality rate Tamilnadu government started a scheme for pregnant woman called "Amma Magaperu Sanjeevi kit" a siddha medical kit which comprises of  11 medicines and it is given at the three trimesters of Pregnancy.
First Trimester:
1. Madhulai Manapagu -5 to 10ml after food 
  • Counters morning sickness.
2. Karuveppilai podi - One teaspoon with rice 
  • Promotes good digestion

Second Trimester :
Medicines are given to  copeup the iron loss during this phase
1. Annabethi Chendura Mathirai - One tablet 
2. Nellikai legiyum - 5g
  • Both the medicines are  given to increase the hemoglobin level.
3. Elathy chooram Tablet -One tablet 
  • Improves digestion,relieves hot burn, dizziness etc..)

Third Trimester
1. Ulunthu Thailam ( applied externally for back ache)
2. Bavana Panchangula Thailam (10 drops with hot water at night)
  • Induces normal delivery
3. Kunthiriga Thailam ( kept as a vaginal tampons at 9th month) 
  •Helps to ease the delivery passage.
