According to Theraiyar the following rules are to be strictly followed for a healthy living with more scientific values

DO’s 

1. Take Hot milk before going to bed.
2. Use warm water during oil bath. 
3. Eat only when you feel hungry .
4. Always have sour curd .
5. Take meals twice a day .
6. Drink water at the end of the meals .
7. Take a walk after every meal .
8. Take emetics once in 6 months .
9. Take Purgatives once in 4 months.
10. Take nasal applications for every 1½ months.
11. Shave once in a week.
12. Take oil bath for every 4 days.
13. Apply eye medication for every 3 days.
14. Avoid exposure to dust and dust particles.
15. Worship God, Cow, elders and teachers.
16. Sleep on left side.

DON'TS
1. Never suppress any natural urge.
2. Never sleep during day time.
3. Never eat any root tubers except yam.
4. Never consume the food that was prepared on the previous day.
5. Don’t take ripened banana.
6. Never sleep under a tree shade or near a burning lamp.
7. Avoid direct exposure to sun rays.
8. Avoid having sexual intercourse frequently.
